WEBINAR DETAILS

Adherence to prescribed medication regimens is associated with improved clinical outcomes for chronic disease management and reduced mortality from chronic conditions. Nonadherence is associated with poorer health outcomes, more frequent hospital admissions, increased morbidity and mortality, and increased health care costs. It is estimated the 50% of medications are taken incorrectly (timing, dosage, frequency, duration, etc.).[1] One of the more significant barriers to medication adherence in older adults is “patient-related factors.” [2] Medication adherence technology is one of the tools that can improve medication adherence compliance by older adults. However, understanding the full scope of available technologies, their appropriateness for specific, but different patient populations and their relative costs, can be overwhelming and time consuming. This program will review the full range of technology-powered adherence tools, so you can make informed choices regarding the most appropriate solutions for your patients.
